THE STEROIDS, Flattener #10
technology is great, it has made life so much easier, it has made it possible for us to really do thing more freelly. Now we can just travel arround the world knowing if someone needs us they are going to be able to find us easily. We can live in a different country and still have contact 24/7 with relatives and friends. We can be available for everyone all day, anywhere. We can carry music and information in the smallest gadgets. But it has also made us slaves of it. Now it is a big deal if we forget our cell phone home, we feel unsafe. Sometimes we don't want people to reach us everywhere. We can't live without those things even though life did work before when those things weren't arround. All those improvement have made us lazy to do a lot of things and now the would has driven us to the point where we are not going to be able to go back to that point wheree these things didn't contrl our lives.

I completely agree with you. It is very easy to become dependent on technology like cell phones or the internet. I used to make fun of people who need to have their cell phone with them at all times, or have to constantly text people. Now that I have cell phone, I am starting to understand that dependency. I uneasy if I don't have my phone with me, even though I know that I don't need it. Cell phones are just a convenience that we do not have to own.
In this day and age, technology is advancing day and day and we as a whole are all participants of this movement. We have become extremely dependent with our cell phones, alarm clocks, computers, and who knows what new thing will be invented. The technology we use everyday has made it super easy to connect with people that it often fools us to believing that people are closer that they really are. Thus, The World is Flat. I think that if we take away these things, it will be uncomfortable to the point where we will try to find new ways to fill up what we are "missing". These things are not a necessity rather they are a luxury we are all fortunate to have. Alejandra is right. Its kind of scary how these things are almost controlling our lives. Think about television programs. We rush home or rush whatever we are doing in order to watch the program on time. Isnt that controlling?
Every night, before I go to sleep, I make sure that I charge my phone. I feel so lost without my phone. There are times when I forget to charge it or just leave it at home on accident and I end up having a pretty bad day. I feel like I need my cell phone just in case there is an emergency but mostly because it makes me feel more comfortable. I rely on my phone for just about everything. I didn't realize before how important my cell phone is to me. Cell phones are so convenient for everyone. It helps people contact each other so much easier. If cell phones did not even exist, everyone would be using pay phones and that is not convenient because you have to go find one. My cell phone has become so important in my life and I am beginning to realize it more and more everyday.
